Your Wars, Our Dead

We translate and retransmit this brief declaration from Kedistan (Paris), a Paris-based counterinformation site focused on the struggle for Rojava.

We are expressing our sadness and condolences for the victims of the Paris attacks.

These abhorrent, premeditated killings, are revulsing us. Just as those of Ankara, in their case directed directed against an opposition protest in Turkey, or those of Suruç, in June, that has seen the death of youngsters on their way to Kobanê.

They will still try to make us believe, that the victims of Paris have died for France, in a struggle against terrorism. They will talk « declaration of war ». The insignias are reemerging.
Already, a state of emergency is declared, before even talking about a state of mourning. The securitarian behavior has passed before compassion.
We can expect tomorrow an upmanship, concerning borders. And we will once again hear them talking of immigration and refugees as a cause of insecurity.
Already the calls to national unity went out, at the same time they accepted the rushed condolences by an Erdogan, brother in a struggle « against » terror.

But if these deaths are ours, these wars that nourish terror themselves, are not.

We will therefore not take part in the marches called-in by the very same merchants of guns against a terrorism they’ve been cultivating on a global scale, as result of their politics which cause despair among the peoples and throw them in the arms of religious populisms and murderers of the future.

This terror is born from the rot of a system that crushes autonomy and sovereignty of the peoples, forcing them under their rule, dividing them to the will of some interests.

How to make us believe that France (or Canada, or the US, or Germany, or Britain, or Russia) is in a war against Daesh as it equally supports supports an Erdogan in his exactions against the very Kurds that have been fighting it?

How to make us believe that the French government battles against terrorism, when the fraudulent flows of hydrocarbons coming from the Middle-East are not the object of official embargo?

How to present the invitation of an Iranian president who, not long ago, was ordering the bombings of his opponents in Iraq, at Camp Liberty while tying the ropes of his internal opposition?

These contradictions that justify a state of permanent war in which France takes part at several corners of the world, are the best alibi the we may provide to those kamikaze assassins. *

Yes, these wars are yours, but the deaths do not belong to those causing them in their names.

Kedistan joins the mourning of the victim’s families, but desolidarises itself from the start from all those who want to turn this into national(ist) political instrumentalization.

Vos guerres, nos morts

Nous exprimons notre tristesse et nos condoléances pour les victimes des attentats de Paris.

Ces assassinats abjects, prémédités, nous révulsent. Autant que ceux d’Ankara, dirigés eux, contre une manifestation d’opposition en Turquie, ou celui de Suruç, en juin, qui vît mourir des jeunes en route pour Kobanê.

On va pourtant essayer de nous faire croire, que ces victimes de Paris sont décédées pour la France, en lutte contre le terrorisme. On va nous parler de « déclaration de guerre ». Les cocardes ressortent.
Déjà, un état d’urgence est décrété, avant même de parler d’état de deuil. L’attitude sécuritaire est passée avant la compassion.
On peut s’attendre demain à une surenchère, à propos des frontières. Et on va encore entendre parler d’immigration et des réfugiés cause d’insécurité.
Déjà les appels à l’unité nationale sont de sortie, en même temps qu’on accepte les condoléances empressées d’un Erdogan, frère de lutte anti-terroriste.

Mais si ces morts sont les nôtres, les guerres qui nourrissent le terrorisme elles, ne le sont pas.

Nous ne nous joindrons donc pas à des défilés appelés par des marchands de canons contre un terrorisme qu’ils cultivent à l’échelle mondiale, du fait de leur politique qui désespère les Peuples et les jette dans les bras de populismes religieux et de tueurs d’avenir.

Ce terrorisme naît de la pourriture d’un système qui broie l’autonomie et la souveraineté des Peuples, en les forçant sous le joug, en les divisant au gré d’intérêts.

Comment nous faire croire que la France lutte contre Daech lorsqu’elle soutient un Erdogan dans ses exactions contre les Kurdes qui le combattent ?

Comment nous faire croire que le gouvernement français lutte contre le terrorisme, lorsque que les circulations d’hydrocarbures frauduleux en provenance du Moyen Orient ne font pas l’objet d’embargo officiel ?

Comment enfin présenter l’invitation d’un président Iranien qui il y a peu, faisait bombarder ses opposants en Irak, au camp Liberty et tresse des cordes pour son opposition intérieure ?

Ces contradictions qui justifient un état de guerre permanent auquel la France participe un peu partout dans le monde, sont les meilleurs alibis qu’on puisse fournir à des assassins kamikazes.

Oui, ces guerres sont les vôtres, mais les morts n’appartiennent pas à ceux qui les mènent en leur nom.

Kedistan se joint au deuil des familles, mais se désolidarise par avance de tous ceux qui voudraient en faire une instrumentalisation politicienne nationale.
