Le 8 décembre prochain, la Chambre de Commerce du Montréal Métropolitain tiendra un « forum stratégique » sur les ressources naturelles au Palais des Congrès. Dans le cadre de cette rencontre (au coût de 450$ l’admission), le Ministre de l’Énergie et des Ressources Naturelles, Pierre Arcand, viendra vendre la nouvelle mouture du Plan Nord aux représentant-e-s de diverses entreprises minières et pétrolières. L’événement est annoncé comme étant l’occasion de «rencontrer les principaux acteurs du secteur des ressources naturelles québécois et de développer de nouvelles relations d’affaires» et de «profiter de la hausse du prix des ressources».
Il n’est pas question de laisser triompher la logique extractiviste au détriment de la population et de l’environnement. Ne nous laissons pas berner par les promesses d’un Eldorado nordique qui nous permettrait de financer les services publics : la surexploitation des ressources naturelles n’est pas inévitable. Alors que des investissements publics d’environ 1 milliard de dollars par année sont prévus pour la prochaine décennie afin de permettre la réalisation du Plan Nord, les revenus eux seront largement empochés par des multinationales qui pourront en plus profiter de mesures fiscales plus que généreuses. Si nous pouvons nous permettre de tels investissements, nous pouvons certainement innover et de développer la société de façon véritablement durable plutôt que de dilapider nos richesses collectives.
Rappelons que ces projets sont prévus en grande partie sur des territoires autochtones et que leur consentement est une préoccupation secondaire pour le gouvernement et ses amis. Rappelons aussi que les communautés seront à peine dédommagées alors que ce sont elles qui seront les premières victimes de ce massacre environnemental.
C’est aux populations qui seront touchées de choisir, pas à quelques vautours à cravate derrière des portes closes. Nous ne laisserons pas ce copinage se produire impunément. Nous ne sommes pas invité-e-s à leur Forum, alors invitons-nous.
The Plan Nord/Le Nord Pour Tous is a plan by the Quebec Government to invest in and promote resource extraction projects in Northern Quebec. Le Plan Nord was originally proposed by Jean Charest’s Liberal government in May 2011, and was presented as an economic development strategy to create job in quebec. When the Parti Quebecois replaced the Liberals in 2012, Le Plan Nord was simply slightly modified and re-named Le Nord Pour Tous. Under Le Nord Pour Tous, the quebec government plans to invest 1.368$ billion of public finds, from 2013-2018, into resource extraction projects and their associated infrastructure in Northern Quebec. During the month of March, a poster was placed at the entrance to the phase A section of the highway 167 development project that will lead to the “Renard Project” and the Stornoway diamond mine. The poster read “Attention, mine anti-personnelle sur les prochains 10 km (Danger, explosive mines in the next 10 km)”.
During the same night, the SOQUEM office in the city of Chibougamau was vandalized. The facade of the building was completely covered in paint (by an extinguisher), including all the cameras. A window was smashed with a hammer and graffiti written saying “Fuck le Plan Nord”.
SOQUEM is one of the more active partners in the “Renard Project”. SOQUEM and its partners currently finance more than $10 million of exploration in Quebec.

Durant le mois de mars, une affiche a été posée sur la route 167 au début de la phase A du projet de développement qui conduira au Projet Renard et à la mine de diamant de Stornoway. L’affiche indiquait «Attention, mine anti-personnelle sur les prochains 10 km».
Dans la même nuit, le bureau de SOQUEM à Chibougamau à été vandalisé. La façade avant du building à été complétement recouverte de peinture (à l’aide d’un extincteur), incluant les caméras. Une vitrine a été fracassé à l’aide d’un marteau et un graffiti disant «Fuck le Plan Nord» a été ecrit.
SOQUEM est l’un des plus actifs partenaires du Projet Renard. SOQUEM et ses partenaires consacrent actuellement plus de 10 M$ en travaux d’exploration au Québec.

Alors que la CLASSE tout comme les médias de masse concentrent leur attention sur les batailles de rue et les arrestations ciblées lors du Grand Prix , un sacré gros meeting de capitalistes de classe mondiale est en train de se dérouler à Montréal… serez-vous de la partie?
Du 11 au 14 juin, Montréal sera l’hôte de la Conférence de Montréal sur le Forum économique international des Amériques. Organisé par la famille la plus puissante du Canada, la famille Desmarais et Power Corporation, ainsi que plusieurs autres élites, la conférence réunira près de 150 conférenciers de partout a travers le monde, représentant les banquiers, industriels, dirigeants d’entreprise, politiciens, recteurs universitaires, des fondateurs d’organisations internationales, et également la sommité des médias.. Il devrait y avoir environ 3000 participants et invités.
Cette année, «l’invité spécial » est Alan Greenspan, ancien président de la Réserve Fédérale et en grande partie responsable de la crise économique mondiale. Les participants encouragent la mondialisation, le capitalisme, le néolibéralisme, la privatisation et l’austérité. Jean Charest a parlé sa plusieurs reprises a cette Conférence, en proclamant l’engagement du Québec dans la mondialisation.

From June 11-14, Montreal will host the Conference of Montreal/International Economic Forum of the Americas. Organized by Canada’s most powerful family, the Desmarais family, and Power Corporation, along with several other elites, the Conference will bring in roughly 150 speakers from around the world, representing bankers, industrialists, corporate executives, politicians, university heads, foundation officials, leaders of international organizations, and media barons. It draws roughly 3,000 participants/guests.
This year’s « special guest speaker » is Alan Greenspan, former Chairman of the Federal Reserve System, and largely responsible for the global economic crisis. The participants promote globalization, capitalism, neoliberalism, privatization, and austerity. Jean Charest has spoken at the Conference several times, proclaiming Quebec’s « commitment » to globalization.

Bref reportage de l’intérieur sur l’émeute du 20 avril contre le Plan Nord
Ça a largement été une superbe journée de lutte, même si elle n’a peut-être pas été complètement victorieuse. Dès le premier moment, ça se sentait que cette jour allait être le nôtre, tout comme le mien… et ça paraissait jusque dans les black blocs chantant et rigolant dans la sérénité alors qu’ils-elles mettaient leur attirail. L’esprit de la Terre autochtone nous animait; harmonieux-euses, même dans notre détermination à semer le désordre.
Et grâce à l’incompétence de la Police fasciste de Montréal (le (S)SPVM étant surtout efficace à se mettre à plusieurs sur des individus, des gens de la rue) et au nihilo-capitalisme indifférent de l’élite politique, cette manifestation du 20 avril contre le Plan Nord corporatiste, gigantesque plan de développement visant à dérober et violer environ 70% de la Nature dans le Grand Nord -surtout par l’industrie minière et le développement hydroélectrique- a tourné au vinaigre, celui qui fermentait, depuis un bon bout déjà, au fond d’un tas d’étudiants et radicaux confondus.
Passant en mode sabotage et combat de rue dans une zone reconnue comme un haut-lieu de gentrification et de pacification (le quartier diplomatique-financier, pris dans le creux allant de Saint-Laurent jusqu’à Peel) , les manifestant(e)s d’allégeances diverses ont envahi les rues ensemble et ont tourné l’ouverture du “Salon du Plan Nord” au Palais des Congrès en un microcosme de la guerre de classes, contre la plus grosse et la plus violente poussée vers une nouvelle vague de colonisation de l’Île de la Tortue depuis longtemps. Ça a montré à quel point l’opposition au développement industriel corporatif est devenue grande et forte.
Dehors, des combats ont pris place entre les forces de Police et les émeutiers, allant dans un va-et-vient successif, où les manifestants ont fait usage à profusion de l’infâme tactique black bloc de la “dispersion pour se regrouper ailleurs”, produisant alors une bataille intense et une machine à destruction massive de l’ordre qui s’étenda sur une bonne partie de l’après-midi. Ça commença par la destruction totale d’une des entrées principales du Palais, par des bombes de peinture et des pierres, juste après qu’un(e) manifestant(e) se fit tirer un coup de bombonne de gaz CS au visage (à environ un mètre de distance), où la Police dû entrer se réfugier à l’intérieur pendant un bon moment.
Entretemps, des manifestants purent se faufiler à l’intérieur du gigantesque bâtiment futuriste aseptisé, par une porte de service, et se rendirent non loin de l’endroit où la conférence se tenait, mais furent repoussés à la dernière minute par des flics anti-émeute. La bataille, à l’intérieur comme à l’extérieur, a réussit à retarder l’élocution du Premier Ministre Charest, alors qu’ils fut aussi contraint de laisser tomber la séance de photos d’ouverture.
Puis, alors que la bataille continuait de se répandre dans les environs du Palais, les facades de nombreux bureaux et commerces desservant l’élite capitaliste furent saccagées, incluant le Centre de Commerce Mondial, avec ses facades successivement passées au graffiti (un “A » rouge fut d’ailleurs peint sur le logo du “W” à l’entrée face au QG de l’IATA et à la Bourse de Montréal, avec “Plan Mort” à côté) puis au cassage de vitres. Mais pour mettre un peu de côté un peu le pouffage de rire, je tiens quand même à rappeller qu’un certain nombre manifestant(e)s ont été gazés et violentés, quelques dizaines arrêté(e)s; mais aussi quelques flics ont été blessés dans les batailles de rue, qui a tourné à un certain point dans une pluie de roches, morceaux de pavé et n’importe quoi d’autre d’assez pertinent pour être lancé contre la Police violente, mais visiblement apeurée.
Face au déchaînement de la colère -en premier verbale et plus physique par la suite- de plusieurs manifestants, aussi face à leur nombre surprenant (je dirais deux mille, environ), la Police s’enlisa dans la désorganisation, avec quelques drôles scènes d’agents se faisant encercler, alors que la peur généralisée était palpable dans leurs rangs, particulièrement alors que des poches d’émeutiers foutaient le désordre à plusieurs endroits en même temps. Ils ne furant pas que soudainement débordés, mais perdaient aussi la face en tant qu’“épouvantails du peuple”, surtout dans la tête des gens, alors que de plus en plus de passant(e)s se rassemblaient aussi pour se joindre à “l’indignation” alors qu’ils furent traités de la même manière que les manifestants. Plus ou moins cette même sorte de gens que les profiteurs/promoteurs corporatifs à l’intérieur tentaient d’acheter par une grosse carotte vide, faite de belles promesses, ce même prolétariat de toujours plus frustré se faisait maintenant imposer l’argument répressif, primitif, écervelé du bâton. Or il semble qu’il y a de plus en plus de gens qui ne laissent pas embobiner par ça.
Bizarrement, alors que la bataille de rue continuait de se dérouler entre les murs du centre financier du centre-ville, les cris et les flashbangs étaient étouffées, à quelques rues plus loin, par le bruit du flot ordinaire du trafic, avec seulement les hélicoptères de la Police qui tournaient au-dessus des passants comme des oiseaux de proie, comme faible signal que quelque chose de “gros” se passait quelque part, s’ajoutant à cela les dépèches à la radio d’un total chaos prenant place au Palais des Congrès… le genre de chose dont des prolos ne rêveraient que dans leurs rêves les plus juteux. Peut-être attendaient-ils-elles qu’une bande de black blocs sorte de nulle part et leur montre le chemin pour se libérer de leur esclavage quotidien?
Il y eut un autre jour de manifestation, beaucoup plus calme, contre le Salon le lendemain, ainsi qu’une grosse marche symbolique pour célébrer le Jour de la Terre, où les femmes Innu de la Côte-Nord furent aceuillies après leur longue marche tout au long de la route 138 en protestation contre l’invasion de leur territoire par Hydro-Québec dans la complicité des “hommes d’affaires” de leur Conseil de bande. A brief insider’s report on the April 20th Plan Nord protest
This was overall a great day of fighting, even though it wasn’t all victorious. From the very first moments, it could be felt that we were set to totally seize the day, and this was showing in black blocs serenely chanting and joking as they were dressing/gearing up. The Native spirit of the Earth was in us; harmonious, even in our drive towards disorder.
All thanks to the incompetence of Montreal’s fascist police force (only efficient at ganging up on individual street people) and the careless, mindless nihilo-capitalism of the political establishment, this April 20th’s protest against the corporate Plan Nord, a huge development plan aiming at robbing and raping roughly 70% of the Great North’s wilderness -through mining and hydroelectric development, mainly- has turned into the havoc that tons of student strikers and radicals alike were waiting for, deep inside.
Sabotaging and street-fighting among what it’s been a high-place of urban gentrification and pacification, the protesters of many different allegiances stormed the streets together and turned the opening of the Plan Nord conference at the Palais des Congrès into a microcosm of the ongoing class war, up against capitalism’s biggest, most violent push towards a new wave of colonization of Turtle Island’s land. This indicated how widespread and strong the awareness and opposition to corporate industrial development has grown
Shit finally hits the fan
Outside, battles have taken place between Police forces and rioters, successively going back and forth, where protesters made and extensive use of the (in)famous black bloc tactic of the « disperse and regroup later », thus creating a tense fight and machine of mass destruction of order for the whole afternoon. It started with the total destruction of one of the main entrances of the Palais, by massive paint-bombing and throwing of rocks, where the police took cover for a while, same place where they’d first started the fight by shooting a protester right in the face with a CS canister gun.
In the meantime, some protesters were able to slip inside the gigantic, futuristic, bleached out, building of the Palais to get near the place where the conference was happening, but were pushed back at the last minute by riot cops. The battle inside and outside has succeeded to delay PM Jean Charest’s speech for about 45 minutes and he was forced to skip the promo photo shots at the beginning.
Then as the fights spread, fronts of many offices and businesses for the rich elite in the area were rampaged, including the World Trade Center building, with its facade being successively spray-painted (a red « A » was sprayed right on the « W » logo at the main entrance, with « Plan Mort » next to it) and then windows-smashed. Gloating aside, there were several arrests (authorities report only a dozen, while student/activist orgs are reporting a few dozens), a few protesters got shot with tear gas cannons and beaten by goons, but a few cops were also injured in the scuffles, that turned at some point into a storm of thrown rocks, pieces of pavement and whatever was found relevant to be thrown at the violent, yet scared police.
In the face of the savage fury -first verbal and then more physical- of many protesters, the disorganization of the police troops grew rampant, while generalized fear could be clearly observed among their ranks, especially as different swarms of protesters were smashing order at many places at the same time. They were not just suddenly overwhelmed, but losing their faces as the « scarecrows », especially into people’s minds, just as more and more ordinary pedestrians were massing around and being treated just like the rest of the protesters. About the same kind of people to whom these corporate promoters/profiteers inside were trying to hand out a big, empty, carrot of promises, the increasingly frustrated proletariat was now being imposed the primitive, repressive, mind-warped argument of the stick. But so it seems, there are more and more people not buying into this one.
Attack on the World Trade Center: this time it wasn't a false flag, but a black flag!
Strangely, as the street battle was still unfolding between the walls of the financial center of downtown, screams and flash grenades being muffled out by the ordinary traffic noise, non-life was still relatively flowing as usual elsewhere in the area, with only the helicopters from the provincial police preying above like vultures as a faint signal of « something big » happening somewhere, added by the war-like radio reports of total mayhem happening at the Palais des Congrès… stuff that only proles would dream of in their wildest dreams. Perhaps they’re just waiting for a bunch of black blocs to show up and show them the way to liberation from their slavery?
There is another day of protest today against the Salon du Plan Nord, and huge (symbolic?) marches are set to be held, tomorrow, for Earth Day, so more updates may be flowing in soon, here and elsewhere. Ce printemps, les grands capitalistes se rencontrent partout à travers le Québec pour promouvoir l’écocide des espaces nordiques et poursuivre la colonisation des terres des peuples autochtones. Le Plan Nord en est un bon exemple. Le Plan Nord est un plan de promotion d’un développement industriel dans lequel le gouvernement s’engage à rendre disponible les infrastructures pour une nouvelle offensive d’exploitation des ressources naturelles au nord du 49e parallèle.
Salon de l’emploi : Du 20 au 21 avril, ce seront les représentantEs des mines, de l’industrie forestière, de l’État et leurs complices qui seront réuniEs afin de promouvoir le Plan Nord dans leur seul intérêt financier. Aux problèmes de destruction environnementale (ex. 300 mines à ciel ouvert déjà à l’abandon, le détournement et l’assèchement des rivières, perte de la biodiversité) s’ajoutent des problèmes sociaux (ex. augmentation du coût de la vie, contrainte au mode vie occidentale et à son économie de marché, destruction du tissu social).
Après avoir réprimé le blocage de la 138 des InnuEs de Uashat Mak Mani-Utenam le mois dernier, l’État continue de protéger les activités criminelles des entreprises minières, forestières et d’Hydro-Québec.
Peu importe que l’argent aille dans les coffres de l’État québécois, canadien ou des transnationales, ce Plan Nord nous menace en tant que parties du vivant. Le Plan Nord n’est que la continuité du plan de colonisation et de civilisation qui existe depuis l’arrivée des premiers conquérants européens et qui s’est accéléré depuis les 60 dernières années.
En solidarité avec toutes les communautés (et individus?) en résistance au modèle de développement qui leur est imposé, au Nord comme au Sud, nous appuyons activement toutes les communautés qui ont choisi de s’y opposer, des InnuEs du Nitassinan, aux opposantEs CriEs ainsi qu’à toutes/tous les membres en combat des autres nations. Avec eux/elles, pour notre terre, nous sommes la résistance.
Parce qu’en détruisant le vivant, nous nous détruisons nous-mêmes. Bloquons le Plan Nord !

Part 1: A Day of Struggle in Montreal: Innu solidarity, citizen-cops, wild protest and the pigs revenge
On Monday, March 12th, a chain of events has spanned for the whole day until late in the night.
It all began early in the day with a protest in solidarity with the Innu people who recently suffered repression from the SQ (provincial police) in their blockade of road 138 against the Hydro-Québec projects on their land. The protest of about 150 people started at Square Phillips at around 12:30 to go in front of the offices of Hydro-Quebec (where cops obviously were blocking the doors) by chanting slogans like « North Plan, Death Plan », « No Quebec, No Canada, Death to all States » while distributing leaflets on the North Plan to pedestrians. After a few speeches the people then moved to the administrative offices of the UQAM and from this point the street in front of the building was occupied with a crowd that kept growing in numbers -as a reaction to the news of a lock-out of UQAM- all up until the night where a « Creation Night » event had been planned.

During this Creation Night, some were painting on the street, others played music, among others local band « Mise en Demeure » have played a full set of songs making fun at pacifists and cops. Many were drinking beer sitting on a part of the furniture from the UQAM building ended up in the street; chairs, desks, tables and sofas.
Around 11 PM, tension has started to rise as the citizen-cops started to attempt a clean up and enforcing the law to « put back things at their place » as others kept taking the furniture out in the street. A person ripped chairs from the hands of a hooded comrade and attempted to rip his mask off, which got him a well-deserved punch in the face. It’s simple : if you act like cops you are joining the enemy so you will be treated as such. Wanna play cops? Face the consequences.
After a short confrontation between the citizen-cops and the masked men, a crowd of about 200 people detached itself and went strolling in the street shouting anti-pacifist slogans and leaving on their tracks many walls and one cop car covered with anti-police and circled A graffiti. When the crowd arrived near the building of La Presse -the most mainstream bourgeois, reactionary newspaper in Quebec, one of Quebec’s « Fourth Branch » of the State- its windows we shattered to bits(the news outlet itself was forced to report on it… downplaying it as a mere « isolated » act… of +200 protesters!) and once more the citizen-cops or undercovers -the only difference being their paycheck- showed up and attacked a masked comrade, but this time the masked people fought back collectively and, defending their comrades, pushed back the attack. The crowd then dispersed not long after with any arrests, even though there are rumors that one was arrested during the protest.
A bit later at around 1 AM, about fifteen people who were chilling out drinking beer in a collective space received a visit from an entire cops squad. The situation quickly escalated seemingly after a bottle of beer was seen outside (???). Many people were sprayed, about twenty cops rushed in aggressively as if it was a raid, with batons in their hands, some in riot gear and with a dog. There has been five arrests. Outside the riot squad was deployed for dispersing the people who gathered at the street corner.
Part 2: Kidnapping, pre-emptive arrests and Hollywood-style fascism
This is related to events that happened on March 15th, a few hours before the anti-police protest that became famous in the media these last few days.
On March 15h, around Noon, a comrade was kidnapped by policemen in plain clothes as she was doing her morning jugging run near her place, in the Hochelaga neighborhood. As she was exiting a backstreet, her run was interrupted par the arrival of a grey family minivan. A tall and muscular man came out of the minivan. At the same time, another car rushed in diagonally, and a third one, from behind in the backstreet. Our comrade was cornered. The tall and muscular man addressed her by saying : « Hi ***, I am an agent of the Montrea Police departement. You’re under arrest, we have a warrant against you. You must follow us. »
Our comrade then answer : Who are you? What is your warrant? Why are you arresting me? Where are you taking me? » as the undercover cop was putting her handcuffs, right in the street. Our comrade screamed in the hope of being heard by pedestrians. Two minutes later, she was in the mini-van, on its way to the East Operations Center escorted by two undercover cops who refused to explain the motives of her arrest warrant. In fact, they completely ignored what these were.
Arrived at the Est Operations Center, cops seem confused on the motives of the arrest warrant. Our friend called her lawyer, who tries to set the records straight. Her and the lawyer are bot amazed, since her judicial file was up to date.
At last, the cops reveal the motives of this warrant. It was about a warrant related to her absence at the court during an order that was to happen a month and a half back, on January 31st 2012, over a bullshit breach of condition that happened on September 12th 2011. Our friend and her lawyer both ignored the existence of this alleged court appointment. Hence why she did not show up. Following her absence at this alleged date of court, an arrest warrant was emitted against her, on February 2012. (We are sorry for the ambiguity of details… our friend desires to not expose her criminal record too openly).
A month and a half has passed and now it’s March 15th, international day against police brutality, that this warrant has been used.
It’s by meeting with the chief in(ve)stigator for the operations of repression planned for controlling the protest on March 15th that our comrade was confirmed that her arrest was linked to the March 15th demo.
The man in question was named inspector D’Amour (or L’Amour). Bragging to have 28 years of experience in the police, this bastard said to be in charge for the case of the March 15th protest and confirmed to our friend that the targeted arrests would be part of this years repression of this year’s protest. So, these morons waited for March 15th to use their warrant against our friend (a legally obtained warrant, but that was completely unnecessary in this context and was openly used to intimidate her). The next morning, on March 16th, our friend was brought to municipal court, where a judge released her under the promise that she would be present at every upcoming court orders.
According to our comprehension, the undercover cop cars were parked in front of our friend’s residence waiting for her to get out, for a period of time we don’t know, so they’d then be stalking her.
We also know that there are other places/persons who are being followed, watched, taken pictures of. We’re not intent to feed paranoia, but want to share this experience so each and everyone stays vigilant. These morons have nothing better to do in their lives than stalk us in our everyday life. Fuck them.
This scene was worthy of a Hollywood movie. As far as we know, there has been other targeted arrests, but none of this kind. So it’s very important to make this info spread because the situation is very worrying. These filthy cops must know that their intimidation tactics does not impress us and that, together, our though hearts are stronger than everything.
Part3: March 15th, a Night of Reckoning
On the evening of March 15 (international day against police brutality) in Montreal, although riot pigs were all over, they clearly lost control of the city center for several hours.
Already in the afternoon, the Berri-UQAM station was filled with riot cops inside and outside, the sky with helicopters, patrols of pigs in the streets and later riot squads and horsemen. Even with this display of force they weren’t up to the task. Proof that here as elsewhere revolt is more than possible. We can even thank in part the cops on Thursday for the riot, they fed it and gave it strength.
They gave it strength when they charged the demo of a few thousand people on Sherbrooke after twenty minutes of sloganeering and anti-cop graffiti, which resulted in several pacifist hippie parasites and the self-described students with the bourgeois leftist mentality to go home. The ones who wanted more than to take a walk wondering what the fuck they were doing in another pathetic ritual of slogans, divided into smaller mobile groups that dispersed and reformed to fucked shit up all night long.
The cops also fueled it when they attacked with their arsenal the people downtown, on St Catherine. From then on the rage was unleashed on the streets. There were probably also many bored young people who are regularly targets of profiling and saw there a great opportunity for their turn to piss on the cops and it wasn’t to long for it to come. As this same line of cops was advancing they took a volley of stones, bottles and a molotov and in an attempt to block the road further, the riot pigs fled from the crowd coming on each side. Moments later, while bins were flying down the street and into a few shop windows, the crowd fell on a brand new cop car, pigs included. The car was attacked with projectiles and you could see the terror and panic in the face of the two cops as they fled the crowd charging on the car. Later a vandalized cop car was flipped over.
By late evening a crowd gathered again at the Berri Square, where it had all begun, to leave once again. It’s when the crowd dispersed to Maisonneuve and Ontario that the cops surrounded people on the sidewalk to make a mass arrest. They held the crowd of about 200 people surrounded for several hours and then filled some buses and took them to a police station in Langelier, far from downtown, where they proceeded to identify people and give them tickets for “gathering endangering peace” and release them, but not before having photographed them one-by-one. There was also during the day and evening several random arrests and others targeted.
March 15th is everyday!
The hatred for this rotten world and its cops, we carry it every single day!

Conseils de bande, État colonialiste, capitalistes… un triangle amoureux!
Une injonction de la Cour Supérieure donnait jusqu’à 17 heure, ce soir, aux Innus, pour lever le blocus qui était établi depuis le 5 mars contre les véhicules lourds et de transport se dirigeant vers le chantier de La Romaine. Le litige a trait à la construction illégale par Hydro-Québec de la ligne de transport du chantier de La Romaine, sans même qu’un accord ait été réalisé avec la communauté autochtone. Depuis le début de celui-ci, le Conseil de bande n’a pas cessé d’envoyer des appels à la fin du blocage et a poursuivi ses discussions avec le Ministère des Affaires autochtones. Revendiquant son autonomie du Conseil de bande, le blocus s’est poursuivi – et le gouvernement a préféré jouer de la matraque plutôt que de trouver un terrain d’entente satisfaisant avec les gens qui contestent (tout comme avec les étudiant-e-s). Or, voici que vers 18 heure, l’escouade antiémeute a attaqué le blocus et démantelé la tente qui était montée sur la route. Dix arrestations, dont une majorité de femmes, ont été dénombrées. Près de 200 personnes en colères étaient sur place pour refuser l’exploitation sans scrupule. Il est inutile de dire que la colère ne se mate pas à coup de matraque et que les membres du Conseil de bande de ces communautés ont de quoi avoir honte cette nuit. Pensent-ils réellement qu’Hydro-Québec pourra à présent construire illégalement ses lignes de transport sur les territoires ancestraux du Nitassinan en paix? Au moment d’écrire ces lignes, déjà, des Innus de Pessamit réaliseraient à leur tour un blocus sur la Route 138.
